It would appear that Landyachtz have come to the same conclusion that Faltown did three years in that a good mid range speed Freeride board looks like our 4.2 Freeride/SAS Eco Carve. Both boards are fantastic for freeriding, commuting and awesome sliding.

I guess the point to this short little bog is to show that there are companies in the UK who know what they are doing with longboard design as well as their better known US/Candian competitors.

We like putting as much of ourselves into our products as we can here in Faltown. With all our 4.2 Freeride longboards and charity board for Surfers Against Sewage we varnish them ourselves before being sent off to be printed. It’s a labor of love for us and we will continue to do all we can to give you products that reflect our love for what we do.

Between the two of us (Chris designing and Alex fabricating), we have made what looks like a pretty awesome camera rig for the Canon 550D on a budget of next to nothing. Just need some box section and someone who can weld. Done.

Going to be using this badboy in the next lot of well overdue filming. Can’t wait to see the results.

First shoot with Emma

The new Faltown promotions girl Emma Brindle posed for our first shoot this weekend which gave us a taste of things to come, her personality and how she fits into the Faltown brand. We had lots entries for the competition, but Emma had the edge and look were gunning for. We were looking for someone with that little bit extra and not just a pretty model, but attitude and style. We think Emma encapsulates those elements and shows great potential.

Emma was a true natural in front of the camera and was a total joy to work with making Rick Davy’s job of shooting a delight.

Also a big thank you to Number 8 hairdressing in Truro for doing a fantastic job of Emma’s fiery hair!

This week Faltown and Rick Davy have been preparing to shoot our lucky winner of the Faltown Model Search. We had more entrants than we were expecting and amongst those were some absolute corkers!

Our winner Emma Brindle had the right edge and look that we were after and has been to have her hair done at No. Eight Hairdressing in Truro and is looking awesome. We are very excited to see the shots that come of the studio shoot this weekend with Rick.

The studio we have prepared is fully equipped for Rick and Emma to to their thing and produce (we hope) some fantastic images of product, style, fashion and something a little bit sexy!

New Faltown Promo Girl – The Search is on!

We are hoping 2011 will be another great year for Faltown) and we are looking for a particular someone to come on the journey with us.

We are looking for a female promotional model, (in conjunction with Rick Davy) with a different and edgy look.

You might have previous experience in part time modelling or it might be that you see this role as a opportunity to help yourself into that industry. There is no need for you to skate, but if you can that’s always a plus.

On this occasion, we would like to request that you are over the age of 18. Also being local to Cornwall would be great but its really not essential.

So, if you feel that you might like to get involved and your happy with the causal approach that Faltown adopts, then here’s what you need to do.

Send us two shots of yourself, one of your face and the other of a full length image. Camera phones are fine, but we love quality shots too. Please can you ensure that the images that you do send us are as clear as possible and only feature you in them. We only get the one chance to see you at your best.

Lastly, tell us a little about yourself. This should include, you age, height, interests and any relevant experience that you might have. Experience is not the be all and end all; it’s you that makes the shot!

Send your photo’s and info to models@faltownskateboards.com or post them straight on to the Facebook page if you are feeling daring.
